Indianapolis (AP) – Rob Gronkowski will play an entertainment role for his first Indianapolis 500 next month and acts as a large marshal for the “snake pit”, the Infield party, which takes place during the “greatest spectacle in racing”.

Gronkowski played 11 seasons in the NFL before retiring after the 2021 season. It now serves as a NFL studio analyst for Fox, which was taken over as an exclusive transmitter of the IndyCar series and the Indy 500.

“This is one of the coolest combinations of sports and music out there and in the ultimate place,” said Gronkowski in a statement on Wednesday. “I am ready to start the party and celebrate the biggest race in the world.”

During the race of May 25th, the Illenium dance producer will guide a series of global electronic music artists in the snake pit in Rand 3 of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Sammy Virji, two friends, Kayzo and Oliver Holdens are to appear.

Michael Strahan, Fox analyst from Gronkowski, is to drive the Pace car for the 109th run of the Indy 500.
