Three 1 One, an upscale omakase spot in the South End, was the only Boston-area restaurant to win a coveted Michelin star. Six others here have won the Bib Gourmand award for providing high quality food at good value for money.
In addition, 19 other restaurants were awarded the Michelin Recommended award. “This means that the inspectors found that the food was above average, but not quite at star or Bib level,” says Michael Ellis, international director of the Michelin guides.
Chompon “Boong” Boonnak, a local cocktail legend and owner of the Thai tapas bar Mahaniyom in Brookline, also received the Michelin Cocktail Award.
