Blue Mint Thai is putting down roots at 380 E Front Street in Arlington’s entertainment district, opening a flagship restaurant that will also serve as a hands-on training center for new franchisees. The expansion is approximately 65% complete and the site will join the company’s existing sites in Mansfield and Midlothian. Located within walking distance of UT Arlington and just minutes from AT&T Stadium and Globe Life Field, the address is in the heart of the city’s event dining corridor.
Owner Mike Wilson, a retired Arlington police detective and former Air Force Security Forces commander, told The Dallas Morning News the company plans to grow cautiously and wants to follow the playbook of fast-casual players like Chipotle, Cava and Raising Cane’s. Wilson told the newspaper that the Arlington flagship will double as a training space for local franchise operators and that construction of the new restaurant is about 65 percent complete.
According to Blue Mint’s website, the Arlington location is listed at 380 E Front Street, Suite 160. The website confirms that the brand already operates full-service restaurants in Mansfield and Midlothian, as well as a concession at Globe Life Field. The locations page also includes renderings of the planned storefront in Arlington. It was previously noted that the opening would take place in early 2026 as the company finalized construction details.
Franchise push and cautious growth
According to a company release obtained by RestaurantNews, Blue Mint recently launched a national franchise program in collaboration with Franchise Marketing Systems and says it has already received letters of intent for new territories, including at least one in Frisco. The company’s filings emphasize that the chain is focusing on operators that fit its food, culture and long-term standards rather than pursuing rapid expansion.
What the flagship means to Arlington
The Arlington flagship gives Blue Mint a prominent storefront in a part of the city that fills with sports fans, students and concertgoers, creating a steady audience for fast-casual Thai food. The brand’s partnership with the Texas Rangers and its concessions presence at Globe Life Field provides an integrated presence that the company says will help franchisees start with an existing fan base.
For now, Blue Mint is drawing interest from nearby markets such as Fort Worth, Grand Prairie and Weatherford as it locates franchise partners, according to local reports. The Dallas Morning News and company materials together provide the clearest look yet at the timeline and next steps as the brand prepares to open its Arlington flagship.
